To file a property dispute in District Courts, DG Khan, you will need: (1) Original ownership documents (Fard Malkiat / Registry), (2) CNIC copies of all parties, (3) Site map or Khaka, (4) Any prior court orders or agreements.
The case is filed in the Civil Court of the relevant tehsil. A plaint (درخواست) is drafted and filed with court fee stamps. The court then issues summons to the opposing party. Interim injunctions can be obtained at the first hearing to protect your rights while the case proceeds.
Typical timeline: 6 months to 2 years depending on evidence complexity and party cooperation. Early legal advice significantly improves outcomes.
Pre-Arrest Bail (ضمانت قبل از گرفتاری): Applied for before arrest. If granted by Sessions Court, police cannot arrest the applicant while the bail is in force. This is the fastest way to protect yourself after an FIR is registered.
Post-Arrest Bail (ضمانت بعد از گرفتاری): Applied after arrest. The accused must appear in court. Two sureties (ضامن) are required to furnish the bail amount.
For offences bailable under PPC (Pakistan Penal Code), bail is a right: the police must release you. For non-bailable offences, the court decides. Contact a lawyer within the first 24 hours for the best outcome.
Khula (خلع): A woman's right to seek divorce through the Family Court. The application is filed in the Family Court of the area. The court summons the husband. If reconciliation fails, the court grants Khula, usually within 3–6 months.
Contested Divorce: Either spouse may file for dissolution of marriage. The court attempts reconciliation via an Arbitration Council first. If unsuccessful, a decree of dissolution is issued.
Child Custody (حضانت): The mother has custody of young children (boys under 7, girls until puberty) by default under Islamic law. The father has visitation rights. The court always prioritises the child's welfare.
